TRUMP POSITIONS DO CARRY WEIGHT

TRUMP POSITIONS DO CARRY WEIGHT

Prior to writing this article, and even now, as I begin, I struggle with my Republican, Conservative views of Donald J Trump, mixed with my social, democratic views of Clinton/Sanders.  I certainly would like to see a Sanders Presidency, but it doesn’t seem real at this time, and I don’t really agree with how he wants to make his policies work.  Clinton, as mentioned in a prior article, has earned my respect and probably my vote.  By record, I have not been a Trump supporter!  Much more a fan and follower of #Nevertrump.

In deciding to look at Trump’s actual positions on major political topics this morning, I have been delightfully surprised to see that he actually has real positions, and real answers as to his positions, and how he plans to play them out.  Whether he is successful or not, if he wins the election is yet to be seen.   If the Republican, dominant Congress remains the same this coming November, then a Trump Presidency just might actually get some of the following concepts approved.  A Clinton mixed with a Republican Congress, or a mixed Congress is only going to bring about another 4 years of locked Congress, and nothing getting done.  Unless, we see a total change in both houses, with Hillary in charge.

The following are some of Trump’s positons on major political and national concerns. If I were to include all my notes, this would be an extremely long post, more along the lines of a Journalistic entry.  So, I must cut down on some of my notes to his positions, and ask you to go to his website listed below to read more deeply into Trump’s ideas, and how he plans to bring them about.

Trump believes there are several ways to compel Mexico to pay for the wall America’s southern border.  The biggest one being the loss of 24 Billion a year in income flow from mostly illegal aliens in America to their families in Mexico.  This is a form of Social welfare for Mexico’s budget, due mainly to the fact that they have no social welfare system in place.  So, they have a choice of spending a one-time 5-10-billion-dollar fee for a wall, or lose 24 billion a year, on all the illegals sent back to Mexico.  Trump plans to end all wire transfers to Mexico from America, without a proper U.S. ID.  If Mexico gives America this money for the wall, Trump won’t promulgate his new rule, putting the regulation into effect.  Donald plans on stronger enforcement of trade tariffs and rules, as Mexico needs more access to our market, than us to theirs.  He can cancel visas, as they are a privilege, not a right.  He calls to increase Visa and border crossing card fees to pay for the wall, as a choice.

On day one of his Presidency, Trump would ask Congress to fully repeal Obamacare, stating it has resulted in “runaway costs, websites not working, greater rationing of care, higher premiums, less competition and fewer choices”.  He would replace it with a free market principle, which would broaden health care access, and improve quality of care.  Trump would look to modify the law which inhibits interstate health insurance sales, thus opening the market up to lower fees, and costs.  He would implement full health insurance payment tax deductions for Individuals.  Aim for personal Health Savings Accounts, open up price transparency, and block grant Medicaid to states, putting the power back in States’ hands.  Donald would like to remove barriers to entry into the free markets for drug providers that offer safe, reliable and cheaper products, and fix mental health programs & institute reforms to help families be more involved in the treatment.

Donald J Trump has plans to come down hard on trade with China with reforms by demanding China to the bargaining table on their currency manipulation.  He would like to force China to uphold intellectual property laws, by not requiring US companies to share their proprietary technology with Chinese competitors in order to enter the market. Trump would put an end to illegal export subsidies and taxes for environmental standards. He would also lower corporate taxes to help keep companies inclined to stay in the U.S., and in a bold move, Trump would bolster the U.S. Military presence in the East and South and China Seas to diffuse Chinese adventurism.

How does Donald feel about the 2nd Amendment?  This is a topic, even as an Independent, but a Constitutionalist, I am very adamant about.  Donald nails it at the end of his feelings about the subject on his page by basically stating that It’s a privilege to drive, but a right to own a gun, so like Driver’s license that cross states, why do we not have carrying identification that crosses state lines as well.  Trump would like the right to carry be a National right, as it was originally intended to be by our Constitution.  He would like enforce all laws currently on the books, and uphold the background checks put in place in 1998.  He does want to stop bans on automatic and assault weapons, but at the same time, along with his health plan fix the mental health system, not blame the gun.  He does not support a ban of weapons on military bases by military personnel, saying that our military has a full right to defend itself, and themselves.

Immigration is no topic to avoid when it comes to Donald Trump, and so we will tackle that next.  First off on Donald’s site is the WALL!!  That is his first and foremost way to handle illegal immigration.  Don’t get Donald wrong either!  He is not against immigrants, unless you’re Muslim[cw1]  of course, and he is not trying to keep you out of America if you are an immigrant.  He just wants to live in a Zoo, where we keep the animals out, instead of in.  Of course, Donald will enforce constitutional laws.  Any immigration plan must improve jobs, wages, and security for Americans he feels.  Donald gets pretty serious about this immigration policy, as it is his longest statement on his policy page, listed below.  He would triple ICE officers, create a nationwide E-verify system (Big Brother?), return all criminal aliens to their nations, detain border captives, instead of catch and release to check for criminal background in either country.  Trump would enhance penalties for overstaying your VISA, and wants to end birthright citizenship.  Now that one, I cannot agree with, as I believe anyone born in America, in any way whatever, is a citizen.  I believe that would be unconstitutional.  He would force business to hire American workers first.  Well, wouldn’t that be nice, but I’m not sure he would be able to enforce this to easily, unless he actually gets rid of all illegals, which form the sound of this plan, he is not going to do.  Just the criminals in jail.  So, good luck getting Beverly Hills to fall in line with that one Donald.  So, it goes on… Donald would also increase H-1B wages (read about it on his site).

What about the nasty taxation system?  Donald even looks to punish himself by giving more relied to the middle class with no federal taxes at all for those making 25K or less, and couples 50K or less, and only 5 tax rates as opposed to the current 7.  Those being 0%, 10%, 20%, and 25%.  He would grow the economy, of course, and would not add to the nation’s debt or deficit.  That would be a trick indeed!!  No business would pay more than 15% on their income.  He would remove the death tax penalty for families.  Donald looks to eliminate tax deduction loopholes for the rich…. That’s right, THE RICH!!!  WHAT??  That will be a good one to get through a Republican Congress.  Or any Congress really.  He’d also offer a one-time repatriation of corporate cash overseas, and put an end to the deferral of taxes by going overseas.  Most of all, as he has tried to avoid in his run for Presidency, which he may not be able to anymore, but he is avoiding SPACS, he says he would reduce or eliminate corporate loopholes to special interests.

I was charged to look for all this information on Donald’s viewpoints, because as everyone on media has been putting forth, and I had to agree with, Trump has been all about what needs to be done the past year, but nothing about specifics on how he is going to do it.  Well, there you go.  You got it from me, or you can find more information, and deeper explanations by going to his policy sight below.  I’d be careful judging him, or his ideas, positions, and future for America, before reading this.  I still don’t like Trump as a person too much, but something is telling me, when these concepts start hitting the air against Hillary and in future debates, I think there just may be a shift to the middle right, from the middle left, for a man who really does have good ideas for our Nation’s future, and also back’s damaging ISIS permanently, and refunding our military and bringing them home to protect us here, and regroup for what may be more serious matters with China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran.  I haven’t changed my vote to Trump yet, but his daughter Ivana, with all her star shine is beginning to get me to lean right again.  How can a family who loves their father so much, without any apparent apprehensions over his riches, or any apparent emotional issues, be wrong about someone they know closer than the rest of us?  Bernie?  Hillary?  Donald?  Who will it be for you?  The clock is ticking.  Get the truth about your candidate now!
