Jungle Book Of Fun!!!

JUNGLE BOOK OF FUN!!!

Rudyard Kipling’s adventurous boy tail of a 10-year old man cub, “Mowgli” (Neel Sethi), who is aging with a wolf pack, led by alpha wolf, “Akela” (Giancarlo Esposito), although told through computer imaging in a 12-story warehouse, overlooking the I-10 in Los Angeles, takes an old soul and drops it directly atop the branches of an adventure, that doesn’t slow down, from beginning to end.

Mowgli and “Bagheera” (Ben Kingsley), who so perfectly speaks the role, are chasing each other through a beautifully man sculpted foray of branch slides, and swings of vines, into trees that could home a colony of monkeys!

The excitement, water rides, and danger never let down as the storyline’s main concentration in this Disney version of “The Jungle Book”, focuses in on “Shere-Kahn’s” (Idris Elba) hatred and revenge-like drive to kill the boy.

Therefore, much of the movie is spent following Mowgli through the jungle as he runs into expected fair of elephants, whom don’t talk or sing in this version, an extremely large snake, “Kaa” that even (Scarlett Johannsen) can make seem sexy, a pack of cute monkeys, led by a gigantic reclusive Orangutan “King Louie” (Christopher Walken), who gives such a jolly performance, that the CGI’s for his character could not have been more impressive!  It was a fun time to be had, and the chase scene out of the King’s Lair, is tumbleicious!!

The story most of all shows the importance of family, and coming together to help others as a citizenship, and putting aside differences, and material desires, for a better outcome of society.  Be it an animal, or a human one.

Shere-Khan, is the epitome of what we all hate in the world, and sometimes within our own selves, and the effects of that type of hatred, and lack of love shined through in this film, from the death of beloved character, to the wounding and punishment of others.

In the ending of this film, I believe Director John Favreau (IronMan), and Cinematographer Bill Pope, who catches a dreamscape of reality through his lens, and the power of CGI, are showing the glaring hope of humans to change the hatred in the world, just as they can get along, and control a fire, while having fun.

Bill Murray as Baloo, gets the final bow in my reviews, as there seems to be nothing this man can’t do… and whether you love him, or hate him, he has had an impressive career that has touched on almost every important issue to man-kind, and he should be greatly appreciated for taking a stand, as one of the greatest comedians of all time.  Murray does no less in his performance in this film, absolutely endearing you to Baloo, even as far as pulling the tears from your eyes!

Disney gets it right again.  Don’t miss this awesome, adventure, that will have you in shock, at one point gasping for air, and will have you shedding tears for the heart-wrenching quality and message of the story, that only Disney tells so well!
