TAKE YOUR BATHROOM BILL AND SHOVE IT!

TAKE YOUR BATHROOM BILL

AND SHOVE IT!

This past Tuesday, a Federal Appeals Court in Virginia finally did the right thing, and stood up for a young teenage transgender teen’s right to use the bathroom they identify with gender wise.  A celebration for civil rights for sure.  You don’t agree?  Well, let’s take a look at a few things that don’t normally get covered in the news, and some facts to back up the reality of a world where we stop judging others, and shutting them out based on religious, and bigoted opinions.

I’m going to start at the top of my six pages of notes on this subject with a list of impressive individuals, whom have found success in this growing offensive world, to their transgender sexuality.  Here they are in list form, with a very impressive woman in the Philippines to begin, finishing out with ten other strong, and individualist activists in the transgender fight.

1.      Geraldine Roman – the first elected transgender woman to congress in the Philippines, winning against a weakening Progressive Catholic-dominated country, where she received 62% of the vote, with 99% of precincts reporting.

2.     Laverne Cox – Who produces her own transgender reality show, but is best known for her motherly role on “Orange Is the New Black”, where she identifies with every woman who sits in her salon chair.  Ms. Cox has become a huge example for the transgender community, that one can rise through the hatred, and bigotry in our Country to still find those who will help you get what you deserve out of life.

3.     Marsha P. Johnson – Most of you won’t have heard of this lady, but she was a 20th century pioneering civil rights activist and veteran of the Stonewall Riots, and the subject of a documentary titled, “Pay It No Mind”.

4.     DW Trantham – is a 13-year-old young lady who is fully supported by her school district in Boise, Idaho over her bathroom identity rights.

5.     Jazz Jennings – is a 14-year-old young lady is an author and activist, and the face of Clean & Clear’s #SeeTheRealMe, with an upcoming show about her transgender life on TLC.

6.     Kye Allums – the first openly transgender athlete in the NCAA Division I.

7.     Chaz Bono – this transgender activist, and child of Cher and Sonny Bono, was the subject of a 2011 film “Becoming Chaz”.

8.     Kristine Beck – a 20-year NAVY SEAL veteran transgender individual, subject of the documentary, “Lady Valor”, and is also running for the first transgender Congressional member in Maryland.

9.     Nicole Maines – who at 17 years old, in 2014, won a $75,000 lawsuit over Oronos School District for their battle against her gender identity with bathroom use.  She has also been one of Glamour Magazine’s 50 Inspiring Women of the Year.  She is now 19 years old.

10. Janet Mock – wrote, “Redefining Realness: My Path to Womanhood, Identity, Love, and So Much More”, and is the host of So Popular! On MSNBC.com.

11. Ian Harvie – a standup transgender comedian and cast member of Amazon’s “Transparent”.

There you have it everyone.  A list of transgender individuals who already use the bathroom of their choice near you and your children.  Highly doubtful that any of them are a danger to us or our children, or even make it obvious who they are in a bathroom, as most of us are quite private still in the bathrooms of America.  As opposed, of course, to the intra-gender bathrooms all over Europe already.  Yes, again, America, being much younger than its parental Europe, is still caught up in its original religious beliefs that the puritans first established in the early 17th century in New England, approximately 150 years prior to our Constitution, which as we all recognize, I think, offers all individuals, freedoms and inalienable rights. Now, about 400 years later, we bog down our society and its growth with almost half a century old religious beliefs, bigotry, and racism.  Whether you feel your values and beliefs have anything to do with the Puritans or not, you might want to do a fine toothed search on the history and growth of religion and their beliefs across our country of America, and how it affected your family’s area of settlement, and where your beliefs originate from, to truly understand who you are.  Unless, you are a world traveler and culturist, and are already aware of the fact that we are all individually different in this world, and none of us should judge anyone’s non-threatening beliefs or choices.  So, in saying that, I am not threatening anyone’s religious beliefs, nor am I judging you for it, but simply pointing out where they falter in this modern world of knowledge, and scientific discoveries.  That being my next topic.

I find it quite fascinating in today’s society, with our incredible vast array of knowledge and online roads to education, when someone who argues against homosexuality, climate change, and such, still deny other scientific findings as non-sense, and foolery.  It is quite hysterical to me that we ALL trust science when it comes to our everyday endeavors, such as watching the weather report for the day, buying products with chemicals in them, using computers, drinking beer, or other fluid products that aren’t water, eating processed foods, driving our cars, and more.  Even the satellites we use, and the space programs we support and follow, are results of sciences, and the formation of chemical compounds.  However, ask a society to believe in a study about sexuality, or about evolution, and everyone goes berserk!  These are the same sciences that our giving you your DNA structural makeup and where you came from, and based on sales, and sales projections for DNA kits, are not slowing down any time soon. So, why do we, as a young Nation still, fight science we don’t believe in, but accept 99% of other sciences in our everyday lives?  Religion, and bigotry are the problems.  It is old-fashioned religious based beliefs that are the basis of all American struggles in equality, and in trusting scientific fact.

Take for instance a study performed by brilliant DNA scientists, that admittedly are at the wake of their discoveries in genetics as of yet, but have done solid studies to show that homosexuality and gender identity is mainly established in our DNA makeup, most probably in the womb of our mother based on transference of hormones.  That’s right, someone is gay or transgender beginning with their DNA structure, then we must toss in all the environmental factors as a cause, as well.

In the Lost Angeles Times, on October 8th, 2015, Melissa Healy, a contact reporter, wrote an article titled, “Scientists find DNA differences between gay men and their straight twin brothers”.  In this article, which never took the prominence in top news stories, such as the bigoted opinions of those against transgenderism and their rights, there is plenty of facts backing up the scientific facts.  Also, if you can take the time to read the study itself, you will find the following information to be true.  That between our DNA are molecular marks which instruct genes when to turn on and off and how strongly to express themselves.  This study involved 47 sets of identical male twins.  The scientists were able to predict homosexuality at a rate of close to 70%.  This combined with nutrition, poverty, a mother’s love, education, and exposure to toxic chemicals, all help to shape the person we become.

Many researchers believe that a person’s eventual sexual preferences are shaped in the uterus, by hormonal shifts during the key stages of fetal brain development.  In reading this article and its study, you are left dumbfounded by anyone who argues against homosexuality or transgenderism and calls them “sinners”.  The only “sin”, based upon religion’s definition I see taking place, is those individuals' mis-judgement and lack of intelligence in accepting the same sciences that make everything they use and eat every day, and the sciences they trust in for the weather, through which they plan their days.

These “bathroom bills” that seek to ban transgenders from using public facilities that correspond to the gender identity that makes them comfortable are religiously created and supported, and of course, this bigotry still rampant in the South, is the leading force.  Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant put it so lovingly when he said, “This is the most outrageous example yet of the Obama Administration forcing its liberal agenda”.  No sir, it has nothing to do with Obama, or a liberal agenda.  The fight against your hatred comes from all establishments of society, including supporters of gender rights, liberals, conservatives, independents such as myself, democrats, republicans, and those of us who are simply humanists.  We just want a world where everyone is comfortable being who they feel they are in their minds and bodies.  If you are against that, then you are simply judgmental, and have no one to fight but your own demons.

Now, why not be an activist for the positive if you just can’t get over your bigotry?  Emily Peck, and editor with the Huffington Post wrote about architect Matt Nardella, owner of Moss Designs who has designed genderless bathroom stalls, with full sized doors, and plenty of privacy per stall, that open to a public sink area for picking your nose, or slapping on a swash of mascara, for an upscale Chicago Restaurant.  At Cooper Union in NYC, they have already removed all gender designations from their public restrooms, and the devotion to equality is growing in big cities near you.  Watch out, you might catch the bug in a small town near you soon.

These transgender type bathrooms are already all over Europe and other nations, and when you put some real thought into them, you come to a very simple conclusion about some American’s concerns about young children being taken advantage of or sexually abused by transgender folks...because as we all know, this never happens in bathrooms of America otherwise (sarcasm intended)…as being superfluous.  With a transgender restroom, any parent could then enter any bathroom with their child of any sex, and keep them protected.  So, that argument is quite moot!

Now, say hello to Gavin Gramm, born female but identifies as male, whom has undergone hormone therapy and changed his name.  Gavin is the winner of this Federal Appeals Case decision on Tuesday, May 10th, 2016, and so are all other teen and adult transgender individuals and people of America!  Despite the court’s ruling, the school board still said “no” to Gramm, and therefore an appeals court upheld the Federal decision, and was also backed by the ACLU’s James Eeks, who stated, “Tuesday’s ruling says quite clearly that forcing transgender students to use the wrong restroom, one that doesn’t accord with their gender identity, is sex discrimination!”

This is not a battle for young children’s safety, which has always been a concern in any public space or bathroom forever, but this is instead a battle for the suffering souls of transgender boys, girls, men and women, who already battle with themselves over their genetic makeup, and dealing with society.  Whomever, or whatever they identify with is no threat to any of us, or our children, and they are simply human beings dealing with what they were biologically born and gifted with, just like anybody else.  Our health, body shapes, look or level of intelligence are different in each and every one of us, and its really time to end the eras of judgement, bigotry, hatred and racism!
