SMALL
TOWN VIRTUES CAN HURT MODERN TIMES!

Tuesday, April 19, 2016. When regional officials announced plans to open a $300 million chicken processing plant employing 1,100 workers, residents packed the firehall and the village board unanimously voted against the plant, and a week later the company gave up, saying they’d take their plant and jobs elsewhere.
This story reflects upstate NY small towns and villages
quite a bit.
There are younger mayors in
some of these towns now, and they face up-hill battles and struggles against
old ways, and old ideas.
The same
people who still run these small towns, with small ideas, will decide to drive
their expensive gas guzzling trucks and SUV's though, 30-45 miles away, at
speeds well above posted speed limits, every day, to go shopping for all the
modern products, and goods, and food they want, which they refuse to have be
built, developed or grown in-masse in their little towns.
Why?
Because their small towns and land are too precious to support the
products, goods, and foods, they are choosing to purchase in larger cities,
further away.
They will throw up their religious
beliefs, and their small town judgements onto those who have broader minds, and
broader concepts to life, but in conflict, will still have no problem driving their fancy, over-priced,
over gassed vehicles to get all the stuff they need from the same sort of
people they don't want working in their towns.
Now golly gee, but I believe this company was bringing more than twice
as many jobs as the people living in the town.
So, I'm pretty sure, no one was losing a job.
I put forth a just as ridiculous concept by nature; that all of these small town folks either be forced to spend 5 years in a city, or forced to only live off of what their small towns can produce now-a-days.
Either way, they will get a great chance to keep their towns, rid of other kinds of people, and religions, and races, and will keep the dirty scoundrels out of the village!!
Yes, we still have pockets of hatred, and those who are scared of economical success, which they don't know who to handle.
Their big fish bowl, would then become a huge lake, and then who would they be?
What kind of power could they wield then?
